Our Veterinarians
Mike Diliberto
DVM – Hospital Owner
Dr. Mike Diliberto is a 1995 graduate of Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Diliberto is a past President of The Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the regional continuing education organization for Veterinarians. He studied TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) at the Chi Institute in 2011. His hobbies include family camping, golf, discovering new wines, and watching all sports. Especially the Sabres, Bills, and New York Yankees!
Rebecca Gerevics
DVM – Medical Director
Dr. Gerevics grew up in Alden, NY, and is thrilled to be back in WNY after spending ten years in Ohio. She attended The University of Akron, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2011 and a Masters in Biology with a specialization in Cardiovascular Physiology in 2013. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2017. Her professional interests include behavior medicine, surgery, and internal medicine (specifically chronic enteropathies and nutrition). Dr. Gerevics is an Elite Fear Free Certified veterinarian and is excited to be practicing low-stress handling on her patients. She provides the dogs and cats of Western New York with behavior medical support in the form of primary behavior consultations, with the option of including specialty care as well.
In her spare time, Dr. Gerevics enjoys exploring the city, trying new restaurants, traveling, watching Bills football, and spending time with her Husband and cats at home. She is a member of the Golden Retriever Club of WNY and is very dedicated to the betterment and future health of the Golden Retriever breed. She enjoys doing Therapy work, Agility, and Canine Scent Work sports with her Golden Retrievers.
Elizabeth Koelmel
DVM – Medical Director
Dr. Koelmel graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. While at Cornell, she worked in both the large and small animal hospitals, fostered kittens, and adopted her one-eyed blind dog named Lillie. After graduation, Dr. Koelmel returned to the WNY region, where she originally grew up. Upon returning to the area, Dr. Koelmel worked at a small animal practice in downtown Buffalo, where she started as an Associate Veterinarian and then transitioned into the position of Managing Veterinarian, overseeing the medical operations of the hospital. Dr. Koelmel’s particular interests in the field include: preventative medicine, primary care surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. She has a big soft spot for cats, as she has three of her own, and she has a special interest in feline health and wellness. When not at the animal hospital, Dr. Koelmel likes to spend her free time with her family (both furry and human) and friends. She loves coffee, craft beer, Netflix, and all Buffalo sports teams.
Aubri Matroniano
Dr. Aubri Matroniano is a 2007 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Having completed her undergraduate studies at the University at Buffalo, she was eager to begin her veterinary career back in Western, NY. She became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2013 and has been excited to bring a more integrated approach to treating pain and healing injuries. She has a special interest in increasing the quality of life in our arthritic geriatric patients through pain control and increasing strength and mobility. She and her husband share their home with their twin son and daughter and a rambunctious Wheaten Terrier, Braden.
Tracy Hurley
Dr. Hurley graduated at the top of her class with High Honors from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She graduated cum laude from LeMoyne College in 1999 with a Bachelor`s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Business. Dr. Hurley has enjoyed working in the veterinary field since 1991 when she started her first job as a veterinary assistant. Ever since, she has been fostering, rescuing, and caring for animals while training to become a veterinarian. Her many interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative medicine.
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hurley also enjoys volunteering for many charitable organizations including serving as the Chair for the Buffalo Food Allergy Research & Education Walk. She enjoys a green lifestyle and has eaten a vegan diet since she was 15 years old. She enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and her rescued Pit Bull mixes, Hank and Fay.
Amanda Schepis
Dr. Schepis was born and raised in Buffalo and was educated mainly in Western New York. After graduating from Orchard Park High School in 2002, Dr. Schepis attended SUNY Brockport and graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. Dr. Schepis then moved out to the Midwest to attend the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in Saint Paul, MN. She graduated in May 2010 at the top of her class with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and has since returned to her hometown to embark upon her veterinary career. Dr. Schepis truly enjoys her work in general practice because it provides her with the opportunity to do a little bit of everything!
Dr. Schepis resides in Orchard Park with her husband and daughters. Dr. Schepis and her husbands are die-hard Bills and Sabres fans. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, baking, and cooking for her family and friends. Dr. Schepis is thrilled to be working in a profession she loves and is committed to being a voice and advocate for her patients who cannot speak for themselves.
Betsy Johnson
Dr. Betsy Johnson is a 2012 graduate of St. George’s University. She attended Canisius College to earn her Bachelor of Biology with minors in Animal Behavior and Zoo Biology. She worked at Pine Woods as an assistant for several years prior to attending veterinary school, where she developed her love for taking care of animals. In her spare time, Dr. Betsy enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, two Grenadian dogs, and her horse, Exclamation.

Shelly, LVT
Shelly has been with Pine Woods since 2009. She grew up in the Ken-Ton area and became a Veterinary Technician in 1999. Shelly has one dog named Macie and loves reading, hiking, OCR racing, and being an amazing hockey Mom.
Tammi, CCS
Client Care Specialist Team Leader
Tammi has been part of the Pine Woods family since 2008. She has 5 cats and 1 dog. Tammi and her amazing husband Rich have been married for 28 years and they are proud parents of their 3 great children. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, walking her dog Earl, and spending time with her family.
Jessica H., LVT
LVT Team Lead
Jessica grew up in Saratoga, New York. She moved to Buffalo to attend Medaille College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting family, walking along Buffalo’s outer harbor, chasing sunsets, visiting coffee shops, bonfires, and volleyball.

Wendy
Hospital Manager, LVT
Wendy graduated from Medaille College and has enjoyed working with Dr. Mike and being part of the Pine Woods family since 2001. She spends most weekends camping with her husband and two grown children in the southern tier. Wendy has two dogs and three cats. In her spare time, you will often find her in a quiet place reading.
Laura C.
Laura has held a place at Pine Woods since 2005 and became a Vet Tech right out of high school after attending Medaille College. She grew up on the West Side of Buffalo and has a dog named Buddy Blu. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dog.
Breanna
LVT
Originally from Niagara Falls, Bre started working for Pine Woods in 2013. She has 2 dogs, Oscar and Finn, and also has 3 cats, Beanz, Me,g, and Kingsford. Bre loves traveling, spending time outside, and playing volleyball.
Jenna
Jenna graduated from Medaille College in 2013. She has an extensive background in exotics as a technician. Outside of Pine Woods Animal Hospital, Jenna spends most of her time working out at the gym and loving up her amazingly perfect pitbull, Stella! Jenna is happy to be part of the Pine Woods team.
Marissa
LVT
Marissa is originally from Hamburg. She graduated from Medaille College with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science. She has been with Pine Woods Animal Hospital since December 2016 and before that, Marissa worked in veterinary emergency medicine. Outside of work, Marissa enjoys reading a good book and spending time with her family & amazing furbabies.
Jessica
Raised in Williamsville, Jessica graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY at Buffalo in 1997 and continued on to earn her Associate’s degree in veterinary technology from Medaille College in 1999. While Jessica has spent most of her career in veterinary emergency medicine, she has a strong interest in integrating Western veterinary medicine with traditional veterinary medicine. She is a proud owner of a “perfect” Bernese Mountain dog and hopes that he will soon become a therapy dog. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys hiking, road trips, reading, and music.
Stephanie A
LVT, CCAT
Stephanie graduated in 2013 from Medaille and has been working as a licensed veterinary technician since then. Prior to that, she obtained a degree in Fine Arts. Her interests include hiking, travel, photography, and making pottery. She also loves spending time with her Golden Retriever Maverick, her husband,d and 2 kids.

Stephanie is originally from Tonawanda and attended Medaille College. She joined the Pine Woods team in 2012 and continued her education by completing her Rehab certification at Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She has a full house with her 3 cats, Stewart, Gandalf, and Bernadette, and her canine gal, Maisey. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys camping and occasionally escaping to her favorite magical place, Disney World!
Kim
LVT
Kim graduated from SUNY Delhi College in 1997 and joined the Pine Woods team in 2006 after moving back home from Vermont. She has worked in daily practice as well as in emergency. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats, all of which are rescues. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, volleyball, gardening, music, creating jewelry, and sewing.

Mary
Mary has a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Canines. She is passionate about training dogs and interacting with animals of all kinds. Her partner, Pixie, is a three-year-old golden retriever who she continuously learns something new from every day. Mary is excited to be an assistant and receptionist at Pinewoods where she can learn from both people and animals!
Rachel
Vet Assistant
Rachel joined the Pinewoods team in 2023 after completing her preceptorship through Medaille University. She’s so close to finishing her Veterinary Technician degree! Rachel used to volunteer weekly through Erie County SPCA, socializing and preparing felines of all ages and backgrounds to be placed in their fur-ever homes. Working with animals has always been a passion of hers and she enjoys learning through hands-on experience. When not at work, she loves to spend time with her husband, three kiddos, and two kitties.

Vet Assistant
Alex has been with Pine Woods as an assistant on and off since 2010. Although, she has
a degree as a physical therapist assistant. She keeps coming back to her Pine Woods
family. Originally from Florida, she has a made the city of great neighbors her home.
With her husband, 3 kids, and their dog Oakley. In her spare time, she loves crafting,
gardening, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
Larry
Larry is our after-hours one-man cleaning crew! When not at Pine Woods keeping our facility squeaky clean, Larry enjoys spending time with his Saint Bernard. Larry fell in love with Saint Bernard’s at a very young age. It was something about this particular giant breed that he was attracted to, their loyalty, their sense of protection, the silliness, and their unconditional stubbornness and love.
Ellen
Ellen is happy to be a part of the PWAH Assistant team where she has been helping update and renovate our buildings. In her free time, Ellen loves nature, bird watching, gardening, and animals (specifically yellow labs). She enjoys practicing and competing in agility with her dogs, and has even competed at AKC Nationals!

Janelle
Janelle has been with Pine Woods for 16+ years and her love for animals has led her to become a member of multiple animal organizations. She’s been married to her husband Dale for 19 years and they have one dog named Ellie.
Melissa
Melissa has worked in the veterinary field for 11 years. She has been in a few different roles and is currently a receptionist. She started as an assistant straight out of high school. She has a perfect yellow lab named Ralphie Parker (yes named after the Christmas story!!) In her spare time, she enjoys cheering on the Buffalo Bills, kayaking, and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.
Marilyn
Marilyn joined the Pine Woods Animal Hospital Team in 2009. A few things Marilyn enjoys are traveling, music (especially Michael Buble’), movies, and spending time with her husband of 43 years along with family and grandchildren. She has one fur baby, Stuart the Cat!
Debbie
Originating from North Tonawanda, Debbie joined the Pine Woods team in 2010. She is a proud mom of two beautiful daughters and one granddaughter. She enjoys country music, sunshine, and the great outdoors. She cherishes everyone she gets to share life with including her fiancé, family, friends, and dog, Roxy.
Carol
Carol has enjoyed working in the veterinary field for over eight years. While not at the animal hospital she loves spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, 3 dogs, and 2 horses doing outdoor activities, kayaking,g and yoga.
LouAnn
LouAnn has worked in the veterinary client service area for over 8 years! She enjoys seeing the pets and interacting with their owners as well.
She has a fur baby named Bambi who was found by the side of the road 3 years ago, and she is a character!
Kaitlin
Kaitlin has worked at Pine Woods since 2017 and is originally from North Tonawanda. Although she has a degree in journalism, she has always felt her true calling was to work with animals. Her fur family includes her two small breed pups, Rocko and Oscar. Outside of work, she loves to sing, play volleyball, and enjoy fun family activities with her husband and daughters.
